Thematic Reports

The Special Rapporteur produces two thematic reports each year. These reports are technical and addressed mainly to governments, international organizations, and specialized civil society members, and academics. In an effort to make these reports to more accessible, this website provides direct links to the original reports and offers summaries of the main points. Thematic reports focus on a particular issue or human right surrounding the right to food mandate, provide in-depth substantive research on that issue, and offer recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Country Mission Reports

The Special Rapporteur also produces two country mission reports each year following official fact-finding missions to a UN member state. The aim of such visits is to obtain first-hand information on the right to food, to report on  findings and to propose, in a spirit of cooperation and assistance, recommendations to improve situations identified as matters of concern. The Special Rapporteur may issue follow-up reports at a later date.
